Awards and Scholarships

 

Big Valley Students are recognized for their achievements at special ceremonies. The grades 1-4 students receive certificates that highlight all of the things they have done well for the year at an end of the year get-together with their parents. The grades 1-9 and also former grade 12 students that have gone on to post-secondary education receive awards at a presentation on an evening in October.

Awards are given for academic achievement like achieving honours, for most improvement, top marks in subjects like math, language arts, art, and science, and neatness and organization of student work.

Awards are also given for athletic achievements and citizenship. Some of these awards carry a cash benefit.  Sponsorship of the awards come from community individuals, businesses and organizations as well as the school, Clearview School

Division and the ATA. We are most grateful for everyone's generosity.

Former grade 12 students may apply for scholarships from the Big Valley Elks and the Royal Purple.

Other scholarships are available to them if they apply. A list of these scholarships is printed in the Stettler

Independent in September and October every year.
